Cotaplan have delivered their latest portable classroom block to a client in Milton Keynes. This new facility will be used for supporting children with additional educational needs. The building was installed during an inset day and finished in just a matter of weeks – with handover a week early.
The interior has a durable vinyl-faced plasterboard finish to the walls and suspended ceilings throughout – making it easy to maintain in the future. With the addition of air-conditioning and LED lighting, the completed building provides a comfortable working environment.
The exterior has been designed with a mixture of Goosewing Grey plastisol steel panels and vertical thermowood cladding. Thermowood is a heat-treated timber that is more stable and less likely to twist and crack as it ages. It can be left to fade and silver over time or be treated to help retain its colour.
The Anthracite fascias, windows, and plinths help to frame the building as part of the existing modern buildings on site.
Cotaplan can design modular buildings to suit most requirements – from concept to handover to the client in just a matter of weeks.
