Cotaplan have completed a set of double modular classroom blocks at a school in Tower Hamlets – just across the river from Greenwich village. The project was initially hampered by the pandemic lockdown but resumed and completed in June ready for the next academic term.
The installation was relatively straight forward except for the narrow access road which had to be closed throughout the lifting period. Careful co-ordination of each wagon had to take place to ensure the adjacent roads did not become congested. All the units where lifted into position over a 2-day period and fitted out with air-conditioning, floor coverings and connected to services.
As the modular building was manufactured off site at the same time as the groundworks were undertaken, the project was started and completed in just a matter of weeks.
